At your first visit, our goal is to listen to and review your health history in order to design the most personalized treatment plan for you. Review of patient’s history: We will go over your past health history, as well as what brought you in to see us. We want to know if you are in pain, how that pain affects your ability to live your life, and review how the systems of your body are working.

Neurological Exam:
We will make sure your muscles and nerves are working correctly.

Spinal Exam: We will see how the joints in your spine move, if your muscles are tight, and look for any trigger points and inflammation.

Report of Findings: Once everything is reviewed, we can answer the four questions that most patients have when they walk in the door.

  • 1. What’s wrong with me?
  • 2. Can you help me?
  • 3. How long will it take?
  • 4. How much will it cost?
  • Treatment/Diagnostic Imaging/referral: Based on your case, I will treat you that day, send you out for more imagining to investigate further what’s wrong, or refer you to another medical professional if I am unable to help.

    * Treatments includes adjustments, soft tissue work, stretches and exercises. All treatment plans are done on a case-by-case basis so your care is individualized to you.

    Three Phases of Chiropractic Care

Phase 1: Acute care. This phase is when you are normally feeling a lot of pain, are unable to perform activities that you usually do day in and day out, and may even be reaching for over the counter pain medication that you don’t usually take. This acute phase is the time where I work to get you out of pain and back to your daily activities as quickly as possible. During this time you may be in the office a few times a week and may have “homework” to help you heal faster.

Phase 2: Corrective care. This phase is when we work to get your body moving and functioning properly again. During this phase your time in the office decreases but your home exercises become a larger part of your treatment plan. The goal of this part of your treatment is to work on healing the body properly to prevent the injury from occurring again. You will work on stretching what needs to be stretched, strengthening what needs to be strengthened, attaining proper movement in all joints, and learning the “do’s and do not’s of rehabilitation.

Phase 3: Maintenance care. You are now pain free and just need to maintain the function of your body. Dr. Wright determines your maintenance plan on a case by case basis. Some patients will need a more detailed plan due to the degeneration or structure of their spine–things that can’t be changed. When the spine isn’t working correctly, maintenance is very important so that you can stay healthier longer. Dr. Wright will work with you and your schedule to figure out if and how maintenance care fits into your life and your health.
